Disney Springs Anniversary Session: John + Emily (+ Baby Ripley!) ✨

Obsessed doesn’t even begin to cover it — Saturday’s sunset session at Disney Springs was so special. This is my 4th year in a row photographing this beautiful couple on their anniversary trip, and it truly feels like a tradition at this point.

John and Emily got married in 2020, and on their first anniversary in 2021, a mutual friend gifted them a photo voucher as a surprise. They didn’t cash it in until their 2nd anniversary in 2022 — which was the first time we met — and we had so much fun capturing their Disney Springs session together.

The next year, on their 2023 trip, they shared their most exciting secret yet: they had just found out they were pregnant! We celebrated that milestone at Disney’s Art of Animation with a joyful maternity session. 💛

Fast-forward to 2024: little Ripley had officially made her debut and joined the photos at Disney’s BoardWalk — and this year, we brought it all back full circle at Disney Springs to honor where our story together began.

Every session with this family feels like catching up with old friends. Getting to document their evolving story — from newlyweds to parents — is truly one of my favorite parts of this job. It’s a reminder that photography is so much more than a snapshot; it’s a way to preserve memories and grow alongside the wonderful people I’m blessed to photograph. 🥹✨

And as if this evening couldn’t get any sweeter, I showed up a little early and ended up chatting with a cute couple on their honeymoon visiting from the UK. They politely declined my offer for a few free photos, but we had a lovely conversation all the same — proof that Disney magic can come in the most unexpected encounters.
